Comic Book Colorist for Ongoing Series

Project Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced comic book colorist to join our team for an ongoing monthly comic book series. The series, tentatively titled 'Echoes of the Void', is a dark fantasy adventure with a focus on intricate character designs and atmospheric environments. We need a colorist who can consistently deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines, and who can effectively collaborate with the writer, penciller, and inker to bring our vision to life.

Responsibilities:

• Coloring approximately 22-25 pages per issue, according to pre-determined deadlines.
• Maintaining consistency in color palette and style throughout the series.
• Working closely with the penciller and inker to ensure accurate and effective color rendering of their linework.
• Providing revisions and adjustments based on feedback from the creative team.
• Maintaining open communication and providing updates on progress.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience as a comic book colorist, with a strong portfolio showcasing your skills.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop or Clip Studio Paint.
• Excellent understanding of color theory, lighting, and rendering techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines consistently.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with the dark fantasy genre is a plus.

Style Guide:

The overall tone of 'Echoes of the Void' is dark and atmospheric, with a muted color palette. We are looking for a colorist who can effectively use light and shadow to create a sense of depth and drama. Strong contrasts and vibrant highlights should be used sparingly, primarily to emphasize key elements or characters. The coloring style should be realistic and painterly, with a focus on texture and detail. Consider the works of Dave Stewart and Laura Martin as stylistic references.
